Sanofi is a vaccine manufacturing facility on a multiple building campus located in Swiftwater, PA.

Verdantas established a relationship with Sanofi in 2001 when we reviewed stormwater management practices previously conducted on the campus. We have continued to work with Sanofi, now on more than 100 site-wide projects.  Verdantas also acts as Sanofi’s representative with Pocono Township officials, securing land development as well as other Township and agency approvals. In all, Verdantas has provided Mechanical, Electrical, Water, Automation, Structural, and Civil Engineering services, as well as Architectural services, making this a truly collaborative long-term project for our team. Our work with Sanofi is critical to maintaining plant operations during the execution of site, utility, municipal approvals, and other land planning projects. 

Project Features

• Established consistent survey control network across campus for us in construction layout
• Evaluated existing vs. future parking needs and timing of need vs. long range building strategy 
• Performed stormwater analysis to determine long range stormwater strategy on campus
• Acting as liaison with contractors and Monroe County Conservation District to verify site compliance with approved E&S plans 
• Acts as a clearing house for all site related CAD data. We update mapping as utilities are discovered during construction 
• Designed 22 facilities to isolate potential spills from stormwater system for EPA No Exposure Criteria 
• Provided Mechanical, Electrical, Water, and Structural Engineering services on chiller/cooling tower system replacements to support the site’s sustainability and climate change goals. 
• Designed a multi-floor bulk freezer storage facility
• Conducted and compiled site-wide feasibility studies on the chilled water, steam, electric, and various other utility systems 
• Facilitated the coordination and documentation of lab decommissioning and relocation to another site 
• Performed reliability engineering tasks such as documenting preventative maintenance requirements, FMEA for equipment systems, etc. 
• Regularly perform (every 5 years) site-wide jurisdictional wetland determinations  
• Performed commissioning services on balance of plant (steam chilled water, air handling units, pumps, cooling towers, etc.) type projects
