Whitewater Valley Rural Electric Cooperative, serving four counties in Liberty, Indiana, faced the challenge of outgrowing their 50-year-old office headquarters and operations spaces. To address this, Verdantas collaborated with the cooperative on a needs assessment study to determine their true requirements and forecast future growth. The result was a meticulously designed new headquarters, engineering, and operations facility, complete with parking, situated on a single greenfield 20-acre parcel. Additionally, 11 acres were reserved for future expansion.
Previously, the cooperative's offices, operations, and pole yard were spread across three physical locations over two miles, creating inefficiencies in work and service delivery to the community. The new centralized facility allows the cooperative to operate more efficiently, providing updated spaces that better serve both members and the service area.
This $15 million, 34,000 sq ft campus, completed in 2024, was delivered on time and within budget. The project exemplifies Verdantas' commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions tailored to our clients' needs.
Verdantas worked alongside Cooperative Building Solutions to bring this successful utilities project to fruition, ensuring that Whitewater Valley Rural Electric Cooperative is now better equipped to serve its community with enhanced operational efficiency and modern facilities.
