Verdantas, a leader in digitally enabled technical consulting for the environment, water, and energy transition markets, today announced the acquisition of Civilitude Engineers & Planners (Civilitude), a civil engineering and planning firm serving public agencies, nonprofit organizations, architects, and development projects throughout Central Texas.
Civilitude has built a strong reputation for helping clients navigate complex land development, infrastructure, permitting, and entitlement challenges in one of the nation's fastest-growing metropolitan areas.
Founded in 2010, Civilitude has grown into a multidisciplinary engineering and planning firm with expertise spanning water and wastewater infrastructure, utility coordination, permitting, land development, site development, roadway design, and construction administration. The firm's deep understanding of Texas' regulatory environment, combined with its long-standing relationships across the public and private sectors, has made it a trusted partner on projects ranging from affordable housing and educational facilities to complex urban redevelopment and municipal infrastructure initiatives.
Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Civilitude strengthens Verdantas’ position in Texas and expands the combined team’s ability to support projects from early planning and environmental evaluation through civil design, permitting, and delivery. The combination is particularly valuable on complex developments where land planning, flood mitigation, water infrastructure, and environmental considerations must be addressed together.
“The strongest partnerships bring together firms that complement one another while sharing the same commitment to clients and communities,” said Jesse Kropelnicki, CEO of Verdantas. “Civilitude brings exceptional civil engineering and planning expertise, deep knowledge of the Central Texas market and relationships built through years of solving complex challenges. Combined with Verdantas’ environmental, power, water and digital capabilities, we can deliver more comprehensive, technology-enabled solutions for clients and support continued growth across Texas.”
"From the beginning, our mission has been to help clients create meaningful projects that strengthen communities while navigating increasingly complex development environments," said Fayez Kazi, CEO of Civiltude." As we looked toward the future, it was important to find a partner that shared our commitment to technical excellence, client service, and long-term relationships. Verdantas brings the resources, expertise, and cultural alignment that will allow our team to continue growing while delivering even greater value to our clients."
"Civilitude represents exactly the type of high-performing, client-focused organization we seek to partner with,” said James Soldano, Managing Partner at Sterling Investment Partners. “Its technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and strong client relationships have created a differentiated position in an attractive, growing market. The acquisition strengthens the Verdantas platform and creates meaningful opportunities for continued growth and value creation.”
The addition of Civilitude expands Verdantas' presence in the rapidly growing Central Texas market and creates new opportunities to connect local civil engineering and planning expertise with the firm's broader environmental, power, water, and digital consulting capabilities. Together, the combined organization will be well-positioned to help clients address evolving development, infrastructure, and community challenges across Texas and beyond.
