Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) relies on a vast network of electric transmission and distribution infrastructure to deliver reliable power across California. Since 2012, Verdantas (formerly Colibri) has provided environmental support services to help PG&E reestablish and maintain access to electric towers, poles, and other utility assets while minimizing impacts to sensitive biological resources.

Verdantas evaluates biological constraints associated with access and maintenance activities, helping determine permitting requirements, survey needs, and seasonal work restrictions. Services include permit strategy development and applications, reconnaissance and protocol-level special-status species surveys, nesting bird surveys, environmental awareness tailboards, and onsite biological compliance monitoring. The team also develops site-specific avoidance and minimization measures and supports coordination with regulatory agencies, including the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Regional Water Quality Control Board.
