Verdantas, in collaboration with SE Group and lift manufacturer Doppelmayr USA, supported the design, permitting, and construction of a new 5,900‑linear‑foot, 7‑passenger gondola at the Bretton Woods Ski Area. This major infrastructure upgrade—valued at approximately $10 million—provides year‑round access for skiers and the general public to the award‑winning, 15,000‑square‑foot, two‑story on‑mountain Rosebrook Lodge.
The project was envisioned to create a signature mountaintop destination offering a unique skiing, dining, and event experience with capacity for weddings, conferences, and evening functions. Verdantas provided engineering support for the essential utilities required to serve the new lodge, including the installation of a new on‑mountain well and water system designed with sufficient storage to meet fire protection requirements.
Additional infrastructure included a specialized effluent‑only gravity sewer system extending approximately 6,000 linear feet from the lodge to connect with the existing sewer force main at the base area. Verdantas also supported the installation of a pressurized propane gas system routed from the base lodge to the new mountaintop facility. The total project cost, including the gondola and supporting utilities, was approximately $18 million.
The Rosebrook Lodge has received significant industry recognition, including the Hospitality Design Awards 2022 Best Event Space and a 2023 AIA New England Merit Award, acknowledging the project’s architectural excellence and its contribution to the guest experience at Bretton Woods.
