Verdantas Flow Labs is working with EPRI to conduct a comprehensive entrainment characterization monitoring study for Consolidated Edison, assessing the impact of their cooling water intake structures (CWIS) on local aquatic life. The study aims to provide critical data that will support their sustainability efforts and ensure regulatory compliance.
In just the first year, we developed an entrainment sampling plan, mobilized custom sampling equipment and collected 95 samples containing more than 16,000 organisms. This sampling will be instrumental in supporting decision-making to reduce the impact on surrounding ecosystems while supporting sustainable energy production.
With another year of the study ahead, we’re proud to continue helping protect aquatic life and ensure a balanced approach to energy and environmental stewardship.
