Verdantas partnered with Wet Engineering of Jacksonville, Florida, to support the development of Moo Lagoon, a new water play attraction at Story Land in Bartlett, New Hampshire. Designed to expand the park's family-friendly recreational offerings, the project transformed a portion of the park into an engaging water recreation destination featuring interactive spray elements, water slides, and guest amenities.
To support the development, Verdantas provided wetland delineation, soils investigations and test pits, land surveying, civil engineering, permitting support, and construction-phase services. The project included a splash pad, water slides, a new underground piping network, a pump station building with wet well water storage, a bathhouse facility, a wastewater disposal system (leach field), and a backwashing system to support ongoing water operations.
Accessibility was a key consideration throughout the design. Pedestrian areas surrounding the splash pad, water slides, pump station, and bathhouse were designed with ADA-accessible pathways, ramps, and railings where required, helping ensure the attraction could be enjoyed by a wide range of visitors.
Because Story Land operates seasonally, the project team worked within a compressed schedule to complete design, permitting, and construction activities between operating seasons. Careful coordination among the owner, designers, permitting agencies, and construction partners was essential to keep the project on track and ready for guests.
Today, Moo Lagoon serves as a premier water recreation destination within Story Land, providing families with a safe, accessible, and engaging attraction that enhances the park experience for guests of all ages.
